About this course

Data taxonomy design is the process of planning out the user actions and attributes that you will track as events and properties in Amplitude. It is one of the most critical steps in implementing Amplitude and well worth the upfront time and effort that goes into it. A well-designed taxonomy will help you build meaningful analyses and deepen the value you get from the data you send to Amplitude, while also remaining easy to learn and maintain.

What makes for a good taxonomy and how do you create one? While taxonomy design can vary between organizations and verticals, this course offers universal guiding principles and frameworks that you can use to design the taxonomy of the first few critical paths through your product.
