Instrumenting your Data Taxonomy
Learn foundational concepts and best practices for your first-time instrumentation of Amplitude. [On-demand course]
Once you have a data taxonomy designed with the business and product questions you have in mind to answer, you will need to instrument the events and properties into your codebase and then validate that your event tracking is occurring as expected. While most of the technical instrumentation details you'll need to know can be found in the Amplitude Developer Center, this course offers a deeper look at concepts that will help you in your instrumentation strategy, particularly if you're just starting out with your implementation of Amplitude.
In this course, you will learn:
- The various ways you can send data to Amplitude
- How Amplitude resolves anonymous users
- Why and how to set User IDs
- How to set and update user properties
- High-level strategies for validating and debugging instrumentation
Time commitment: 40 minutes
You should take this course if:
- You collaborate with developers involved in the instrumentation of your taxonomy
- You've taken the Fundamentals of Data Taxonomy Design course
- You've taken Getting Started with Amplitude Data course
