About this course

Monetization and revenue generation are key outcomes that most companies focus on as part of their long-term growth strategy. How to think about monetization and your strategy for improving it varies based on your products and your organizational goals. 

In this course, we’ll discuss the importance of monetization for driving long-term growth and how to think about what monetization looks like for your specific product. We’ll discuss how to analyze your current baseline monetization metrics with Amplitude and develop goals and strategies for improvement.

You will learn the following by the end of this course:

Part 1 - Understand the Importance of Monetization

  • Articulate the importance of monetization for driving long-term growth
  • Determine the key metrics for measuring monetization for your product.
  • Check your data taxonomy to ensure you have the relevant events and user properties instrumented in order to carry out your analyses

Part 2 - Measure Your Current Level of Monetization

  • Analyze your users' product journeys in Amplitude
  • Analyze your conversion paths in Amplitude
  • Analyze other key monetization metrics in Amplitude, including AOV, ARPPU, ARPV, MRR, and NRR

Part 3 - Uncover Opportunities for Improving Monetization

  • Deepen your data investigation by leveraging different analytical questions and tools
  • Generate an insight-backed hypothesis based on your investigative analyses
  • Implement product strategies for increasing monetization

You should take this course if: 

  • You are responsible for setting success metrics for a new feature or initiative and identifying new levers to move those metrics
