We’ll discuss how to analyze your current baseline retention and engagement metrics with Amplitude and then develop goals and strategies for targeting each.

Part 1 - Understand the Importance of User Retention and Engagement

  • Describe the relationship between retention and engagement as it relates to product growth.
  • Determine the key metrics for measuring retention and engagement for your product.
  • Check your data taxonomy to ensure you have the relevant events and user properties instrumented in order to effectively analyze the metrics in the previous lesson.

Part 2 - Measure Your Current Level of Retention and Engagement

  • Perform a Lifecycle analysis to see how the proportion of users who do and don’t retain changes over time.
